The application process gets handled within a few days at the Immigration office and some other offices around Asuncion. If your documents are in order it can take up to 90 days for your residency to processed due to the increased numbers in applications at the immigration office from foreigners for residency.  It may take less than 90 days, but that is the maximun of time that it can take for your papers to go throug.  

Your Cédula can only get done once we receive your approved temporary residency. The Cédula gets done in a day with Susy and her team and it can take up to 30 busisness day to receive your documents back.

Yes, your residency application gets done within a few days and it can take up to a few weeks to receive your approved application back. When your documents are ready for collection and if you are not in Paraguay, Susy will collect it on your behalf if you are not in the country and courier all your documents with DHL back to you.

To have a stress-free application process you would need the following documents.

• Original  ID from the country of origin
• Original Consular Visa and its verification by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where required. (Most of countries don’t need a Visa to enter the country, so this we´ll do it together upon arrival)
• Original of the Proof of entry into the country
• Original Birth Certificate, issued by the competent authority in the country of issue, visad and legalized or apostilled.
• Original of the Civil Status Certificate, issued by the competent authority in the issuing country, visated and legalized or apostilled, if applicable.
• Original the current Criminal or Police Record Certificate, visated and legalized or apostilled (Required from 14 years of age):
• Original  of the Background Certificate issued by INTERPOL (Required from 14 years of age).
• Original of the Background Certificate for Foreigners, issued by the Information Technology Department of the National Police of Paraguay (Required from 14 years of age and done upon arrival)
• Affidavit before the National Directorate of Migration of commitment to comply with and respect the National Constitution, the laws and other regulatory provisions that govern the national territory (issued by the DNM computer system when submitting the residence application ).
• Affidavit before the National Directorate of Migration of your profession, activity or trade that you will carry out in the country and of the domicile established in the national territory (issued by the DNM computer system when submitting the residency application).

Exchanging currency is a service provided worldwide. However, in Paraguay it is important to know that they ONLY accept crisp clean new banknotes. In Paraguay they will not exchange old, damages or bank stamped banknotes.

Make sue you do not bring banknotes with stamps with you.

They will only exchange $50 or $100 notes

Only USA citizens need to apostatise all their documents and it must be done in the USA.

Notarising can get done for all other countries in Paraguay.
